Weber-Isis Pendulum, gold-plated

Eckhard Weber describes discovering the effect of an Isis pendulum for himself at a trade fair, then spending years refining his own design until he was satisfied with it. The result is popular today with dowsers, pendulum practitioners and self-users, including, the manufacturer says, a well-known Feng Shui master in Hong Kong.

Materials and construction

Gold-plated brass, 5 cm long, 26 grams, with an approximately 26 cm cord. The pendulum body is filled with rock-crystal-quality quartz sand and organic cotton, and is delivered in a soft velvet bag. Weber's design draws on the idea that every geometric shape carries its own natural vibration, a concept he traces through Babylon, Egypt and India, and through structures such as the pyramids and Stonehenge.

How it is used

A pendulum is a traditional dowsing tool: you decide in advance which direction of swing means "yes" and which means "no", then hold the remaining cord in your palm and ask your question. Common uses include colour work, chakra work, pendulum tables, testing a sleeping place, and locating a source of interference in a room.
